The meaning of Baiyun, White Cloud
A monk once asked Shao-shan,
"Is there any phrase which is neither right nor wrong?"
Shao-shan answered, "A piece of white cloud does not show any ugliness."
Lui Hok Hoi told me that simply teaching form is like giving someone plastic flowers:
They will never grow. They will never live.
TaiJi is in the form of clouds. Clouds are never exactly the same.
Yet each can be recognized as cloud.
